Ancient Egypt at the MET

On Saturday February 4, 2006, I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, just a short drive away! On the weekend the Met is open till 9pm, and to really enlighten your experience, I recommend ordering a drink from the bar on the Great Hall Balcony, followed by a trip through Ancient Egypt and a walk down the Nile. Perhaps a visit to the Temple of Dendur,, Nubia, Ca.. 15, or pay respects to an Ancient Mummy from long ago. Before you leave, enter the Museum’s Grand Artifact Store, for some long lost treasures, to remember your trip. If you gather more time, try and explore the Ancient Roman and Grecian Artifacts on the other side of the Met. Then head back up to the bar for one more nightcap, before viewing the many rooms of paintings and art, along with a viewing of Asian Antiquities and if open, Vintage Costumes. The Exploration is endless, so bring your walking shoes, journal and camera (remember no flash-photography is allowed) and let your archaeological journey begin!
